Hello there fellow gooners, Looks like Lokonga might be our first signing How do you guys feel about this? Recommended by Henry but Ed002 feels it could be a step up too far for him now.

I feel if he is one for the future and is integrated well in to the team it could be a great addition but if he is a replacement for Xhaka then we need to be worried as I feel we need more than one CM this window considering the amount of players we might let go.

Have faith. Xhaka was bought for 30 mil and basically did nothing during his whole time with Arsenal. So if he is a replacement, then he can't do much worse. If they are good enough, they are old enough. As for Ed002 saying he wasn't ready for that step up. Same things were said by most people at the time about Anelka, Vieira even Fabregas. Just give it a bit of time and then judge it. going to be an interesting summer.

I'm happier that we are looking at players like Lokonga. He's a young captain at 21 and has a lot to be desired by all accounts. He will slot in nicely next to Partey and provide more of a solid midfield base allowing the number 10 to play more freely. Something we so desperately needed when we had Ozil.

That's a fair take Jay, I just feel we need a more experienced CM partner for Partey and Lokonga will be good for coming off the bench and playing in for Partey during the AFCON in Jan. Putting in all faith in him is a bit of a naïve move on our part. Xhaka may have been poor but our dependency on him is shown whenever he did not play last season - Just goes to show the need for quality in our midfield.

I see Lokonga as more of a ceballos/ guendouzi/ torreira replacement, I think if Xhaka is sold we will definitely be buying a new CM.

Like the look of Lokonga, but we definitely need more. Feels very similar to Partey in my opinion. i'm hoping the Aouar rumours are solid again, always been my preference for as Partey's partner. Onana, White, Lokonga and Aouar would be a fabulous summer for me. Integrating Balogun more and seeing a little of Azeez. Still concerned at RB but just not sure what's happening there.

I read earlier today that Roma have pulled the plug on Granit. Not sure how true that is.
