Saw this and thought how poorly run we are - no pun intended!

Since 2013, Arsenal made over 30 FIRST TEAM signings (excluding free agents) and are yet to make a profit on the sale of a single one of them. The last 2 players Arsenal signed for money and made a profit on was Giroud (signed 2012) and Chamberlain (signed 2011) .

This stat really outlines a lack of plan, direction and involvement of the owners. We don't have to look much further than Donyell Manel of PSV, playing for Netherlands at the euros. £1 million for him looks like a bargain. I thought he played really well tonight and stats have been good for PSV as well.

Hi Yard, by 30 signings do you mean we've signed AND sold 30 players for a loss? Either way I agree, its terrible running of the club. I do however feel we have been slightly unlucky with how some signings have panned out (many players bought with a great reputation abroad but haven't cut the mustard here) , but then saying that, surely that is a recruitment issue.

It depends on whether you base the loss on how much you bought the player for minus the amount sold for. Or their net book value at time of sale and the amount sold for. I’m sure you’d get different results.

I can only assume it means e. g., we bought a player for say £22m and whether he played 2 or 5yrs for the club when he was sold the price was below £22m.

In this case and in simple terms we can say the player value has not increased and we could take into consideration that the club has not won much within that time to contribute to an overall success.

{Ed014's Note - to be fair most clubs lose money on transfer deals, look at the millions United have spent on players like Lukaku, Sanchez, Di Maria, Zaha etc etc, bet they didn’t get their money back.

It’s only when you see players like Bale or Coutinho leaving that you see a club make big money.

Did Spurs get anything like the money back they wasted signing players with Bales money.

Ultimately when they, if they, leave Liverpool, will they get the money back they paid for VVD and Allison, likely not.

Often unless you find a gem like Kante or develop a talent like Anelka you rarely make a profit no matter who you are.

Hard to disagree ed mate. Just feel the frustration stems from underwhelming signings, moving them on too late and not signing an appropriate replacement. It's been a very vicious cycle for the past decade or so.

{Ed014's Note - definitely mate, I was just from the perspective that not many clubs get the transfer market anything like right.
