I know the chances of it happening are next to nothing but if hypothetically Bielsa was to leave Leeds at the end of the season when his contract is up would people be interested in bringing him in to replace MA? Would be interested to hear some of your thoughts.

I was really impressed with Leeds when we played them in the Cup last year. Thought they outplayed us completely. Think they are a nice team to watch with an exciting style. I’m not sure how strong defensively he is as a coach and not sure if his style is a little naive. I’m not being agist but I think I’d rather a younger ambitious manager or a successful experienced manager. At 65 he still feels like a gamble

Happy to be educated.

Are the Leeds squad as good as the Arsenal squad? I'd say no not even close.

Yet Leeds and Arsenal are achieving pretty much identically in the league.

So Bielsa would be much better than doing nothing to try and improve ourselves, we have nothing to lose by making a change.

Goals against 49 Vs our 35 ( Everton 38 or WHU 39)

Goals for 49 Vs our 43 ( wHU 51)

I think we can do better Gunner.

I do feel like if we bought a dm in the mould of kalvin phillips then Bielsa could really get us playing brilliant attacking football. Yes there are still questions over how good they are defensively but I think that can very much be put down to the lack of quality. No disrespect to their defenders but they're comparably poor individually compared to the premier league standard, but still hats off to Bielsa for getting so much out of them.

We have a manager.

We also had a manager in Arsene Mark but that didn't stop you talking about other managers you would have liked him replaced with mate 😎.

You didn't like Arsene but many others did and that was fine

You love Mikel but many others don't so why is that not fine too mate?

After 14 years of absolute failure of Wenger I think I had a right to my opinion

We are going into a crucial quarter final second leg and there’s not one post about team selection or tactics

Where the rallying calls and support for the club

All I’m reading about 2 Bob managers from other clubs

There is obviously trouble with senior players thinking they manage the club

I for one will get behind Mikel and the arsenal tomorrow night and not talk about replacing him.

You absolutely had your right to an opinion on Arsene, are others not entitled to there's about Mikel now?

What happens if we go out tomorrow night and you change your opinion about Mikel are others then entitled to talk about replacing him?

When we both wanted Arsene replaced do you remember others telling us to get behind Arsene and the team?

It's all about respect and accepting not everyone feels as we do about everything, and it really is OK for us to allow that.

Come on John you only picked out my post about Wenger and Mikel

What about the rest of the post?

Anyway.

I think he should retire Tris. Then he can run through the fields holding hands with the Raver.

{Ed001's Note - a love story for the ages that is!}

Arteta is absolutely garbage hasn’t got a plan A never mind B, the sooner he’s gone the better, I for one won’t be watching tomorrow as I’ve had enough of his crap tactics and swapping the team around.

It's definitely an age thing with me Mark mate.
I really do struggle with these modern day, flexible acceptable standards depending based on likes or dislike of an individual.

I'm still stuck in the days when what wasn't acceptable standard 5 years ago isn't acceptable today and if the manager was responsible for his players lack of performances, moral and achievements back then the same rules apply today.

I never believed giving up on a manager meant you wasn't behind the club back then and I still feel that same way today,

I really am stuck in my ways, just like poor old Victor Meldrew 😭🕔😭🎂.

{Ed001's Note - but older! ;-)}

I’m 100% Arsenal and my expectations are high, as they should be. This crap that Arteta has 3 seasons to sort the poor squad out is just crap. No other club or company would put up with such poor low expectations. I totally agree that Arteta doesn’t have the experience to sort us out. He has no plan A or B. He doesn’t adjust and just screams instructions - no wonder the players are pissed off and don’t think for themselves. Have a game plan but don’t micromanage 11 players on the pitch.
I was frustrated at how low our bar was with Emery and Arteta. I’m happy to say I’m frustrated with Granit, I’m frustrated with Arteta - I’m still a fan. I stil
Want the best for my club and as the club swallows so much of my life - why shouldn’t I have high expectations. Highest season ticket prices, huge wage bill, expensive squad - why shouldn’t I expect us to finish higher than West Ham with a manager we would even touch. They play nice for all and to their strengths. Not a stubborn managers view of how he’d like us to play. You can’t moan that you don’t get a tan sunbathing in Oct in Scotland. You wouldn’t try as it makes no sense - nor does some of Arteta’s views but he still tries.

High standards and don’t be afraid to say you aren’t happy with the boss. But be consistent rather than he’s great one minute and rubbish the next based on 90 mins of football.

Don’t say we need to keep him because we can’t replace him. Get the first decision right then address the second.

Don’t say he needs 3 years to improve but we decline or others speed past us.

You can still be a fan and if we don’t ask these questions then we are cheating the badge and the fans. I get bored reading posts like mine but what I would love to read to help me and still haven’t seen it - why are you saying Arteta in? What’s he doing that I am not seeing? Tactics, performances, decisions in game, starting 11 - what am I missing. I miss a lot so please spell it out.

I remember Victor being a kid Ed001 mate, his great grandad used to get my ration for me on a Tuesday afternoon when it was a bit to parky for me to venture outdoors myself 🤗.

{Ed001's Note - I can believe that.}

Sy, where was a post like that when Wenger was manager?

19.) 14 Apr 2021
14 Apr 2021 21:17:54
For me, the start of the rot under Wenger was when he forgot the pace and power of his earlier period and decided the future of our football would be based on slower possession football, tippy tap style and through the middle. This eventually failed and so we moved onto Emery who played slower possession football, tippy tap style and through the middle and it failed. So we move onto Arteta who plays, well you know the rest. So through apathy I say what’s the point of replacing Arteta if we bring in another manager who will just be more of the same? Lots of comments on here about Arteta having no plan B, but I fear that it’s our board and hierarchy who really have no plan B.

14 Apr 2021 21:42:24
Funny enough Ed Victor himself struggled to believe it 😎

It is what it is SY mate.

Our personal expectations may vary but we should be consistent in our expectations regardless of who the manager is or players are and what is or isn't acceptable for one should be acceptable or unacceptable for all in the job role they hold.

{Ed001's Note - oh very good!}

To borrow a phrase from my old pal Jack Wolfskin, what's with all you negative nandrews. There's a semi to play for tomorrow, get behind your team. If you're not watching, why post on here. Take a break, cut yourself off, have a biscuit. Win, lose or draw its Arsenal all the way. Doesn't matter who"s putting the cones out. Standards have slipped, I understand people want more, but come on. let's go into it with a drink in our hands, a song in our hearts. we all know we've got more than enough to beat this team. let's have it you Gooners. Bless.
