Who would everyone's choice be as our most disappointing signing this century? I imagine ozil will be popular but to me he has had periods where he's been effective and could have flourished if we had changed our style to suit him so think he'd be a harsh pick. Mine would probably be kallstrom. Had massive hopes for him when he signed and although not necessarily his fault has to go down as a total failure.

Ozil was a super signing that stunned football when he agreed to join Arsenal, he was a Real Madrid superstar that no one anywhere was expecting Real to sell, then suddenly he was saying "i am gooner" at a press conference :-) .
Malcolm Mcdonald Denis Bergkamp Mesut Ozil are the only 3 signing ms that got me jumping up in the air like a lunatic before they'd kicked a ball for us :-) .
I was genuinely blown away by all 3 choosing us and us pushing the boat out to get.

Most disappointing? That's actually a tough one for me to think of.
In hindsight Xhaka Poldolki would both be on the list.
I think for me it's easier to think of players we didn't sign but had the chance to sign both Zlatan and Kante are both very very high on that list.

Pepe and Luiz - we needed to spend a lot on a proper centre back and a reasonable amount on a tricky quick winger with a direct style. Liverpool sign Mane and Van D.

We sign a cheap old defender without discipline for peanuts and waste a record amount on a winger who doesn’t actually dribble or play a direct style beating the winger to whip a decent cross in.

70 to 80m completely misspent

Not disappointed in performance as it’s about par but completely disappointed that the window we spend a decent amount with a new set up - we completely F it up big style. Embarrassing. Gross misconduct from our management team in my book.

SY4 you forgot to mention we signed that winger as a replacement for Gnabry who we let go for Peanuts and who is now a 80 million winger. Do you think Bayern would accept a straight swap Pepe for Gnabry!

Or Ox who could was only considered worth an hour here half hour there ok the wing or as make shift wing back but never in central midfield but is now an important part of world champions Liverpools midfield Instead of ours.
