Why do some people get lots chances in managers jobs while others seem to struggle to get one chance?
It's always mystified me how some so obviously struggle at the job but clubs que uo to give them another go.

{Ed001's Note - because they have the right agent or friends in the right places.}

Bit sad that mate but hey ho it's the way things are right now I guess.

{Ed001's Note - always has been that way to a large degree.}

Yeah I guess so but I just remember Bobby Chalton and Mark lawranson having a do struggling at it and moving on while other things whlie others seem to go from one club to another without any success.
While Wenger and Mourinho were never top players but had huge success in management it seems a good playing career is only an advantage in getting a job in the first place but not a good indicator of future management ability.

I was going to ask your opinion on clement the other day ed, but as it wasn’t arsenal related I didn’t open a new thread. But as it’s on topic what do you think. I think he rates himself highly and I have the feeling that he is a career sycophant hence the connections he appears to have when he gets these jobs after failure after failure.

{Ed001's Note - I think he is a good coach but an appalling head coach as he is tactically inept. He makes Mourinho seem like a gung ho all out attack coach.}

Steve Clarke was another one who was an excellent coach but poor manager.

Clarke is doing well at Kilmarnock at the moment I believe.
