Emery has to go, he has lost the fans and the board. How the owners and the board react is important. Emery should be gone before the match on Thursday, if if Freddie is put in temporary charge. The next permanent appointment has to be an intelligent solution. Pochettino would be so good for many reasons. It would be a great time to get him, as he must be motivated to get one over on Levy. It would depend on how settled he and his family are in sunny Hadley Wood, where he resides.

I have nothing against Poch, but I wonder if the sources of his disillusionment at Spurs, are likely to be the same with us. Given that the set up at Arsenal seemed to put off so many before, I'm beginning to wonder if the changes need to be root and branch rather than just the stem.

It looks like Nuno Espirito Santo is in the frame, would certainly take us forward.

I reckon Fredie for starters so the club can sort themselves out in order to attract the right man next summer, will Fredie get us top 4? I doubt it but Emery definitely won't so no harm in trying something different to what we definitely know isn't working out well for us already.

After calming down - I really can’t see Dick getting the boot anytime soon, we are above Tottenham and Man U and still comfortably in touching distance of a Europa League spot . For the board to react I believe we have to drop into places 11/ 12 and below, until then it’s as you were IMO.

The main problem with sacking Emery is who we bring in and whether we can secure them mid-season. The main contenders without a club are Allegri and Pochettino, both may prove problematic. I believe the club will plump for Arteta, but could we secure him mid-season, and it’s a big ask to employ a rookie manager to turn round the current mess. Benitez would be a decent shout, and he may fancy a return to England and the PL. he has the experience and personality to sort things out swiftly.
